Invisalign® is one type of clear aligner treatment. It uses a planned series of transparent, removable trays made specifically for your teeth. Each aligner applies controlled pressure to guide your teeth towards their planned positions over time.

Invisalign® Teen is designed for younger patients. For teenagers and young adults, it can reposition the teeth, straighten the smile and help create a more comfortable and functional bite.

Like original Invisalign®, Invisalign® Teen uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move teeth into the planned position.

After our dentists have checked that Invisalign® is likely to suit your needs, the process begins with a precise digital impression of your teeth. Our intraoral scanner creates the digital model without trays of putty or waiting for a mould to set. This model is the blueprint for your custom series of clear aligners.

When your aligners are ready, you will receive the series to take home. Each set is usually worn for one to two weeks before you move to the next in sequence, and every new aligner is slightly different from the one before.

Throughout treatment, our team will monitor your progress and make any refinements that are needed. As always, we are here if any questions come up about your care.

Most Invisalign® treatments take around 9 to 15 months to complete, though every smile is different. Your exact timeframe will depend on the complexity of your case, the number of aligners required and your treatment goals.

To keep your teeth moving consistently and give you the best chance of the result we have planned together, it is important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss.
