Your first visit. Here's what it costs.
A full check-up and clean at Nest is $270 for new patients. If you have a health fund with extras cover, your out-of-pocket will be lower — sometimes nothing at all. We confirm your cover on the spot before we begin, so there's no guessing.

Most health funds with dental extras cover a big chunk of your first check-up and clean and some cover it completely. Bring your card and we'll confirm your exact cover on the spot using HICAPS, before we start. No surprises.
No health insurance?
$270 flat
For your standard first visit
$270 covers everything included in your first check-up and clean — exam, scale and clean, fluoride, standard X-rays and photographs. If your dentist identifies anything that needs further attention, they'll explain what's needed and the cost before proceeding. Nothing extra happens without your permission.
A check-up and clean is for you.
Not a quota for us. It's the simplest, most useful thing you can do for your mouth: a proper look at what's going on, and a clean that reaches the places brushing and flossing can't.
Your dentist examines your teeth, gums and bite, and tells you honestly what they find. We then gently remove the plaque and tartar that's built up over time, and finish with a polish that lifts surface stains from coffee, tea and food.
Catching something small now is much easier, and far less expensive, than fixing the same thing in a year or two. It's also how we get to know you and your mouth properly, so future visits feel familiar rather than starting from scratch.

What's included in your first visit
Comprehensive Examination
A thorough look at your teeth, gums, bite and overall oral health. We tell you honestly what we find.
Scale & Clean
Professional removal of plaque and tartar, the stuff that brushing alone can't shift.
Fluoride Treatment
Strengthens enamel and helps protect against future decay. Quick and simple.
Bitewing X-rays
Standard X-rays that check for decay between teeth — the kind brushing and a visual exam can't pick up. Taken when clinically needed.
Clinical Photographs
Taken as needed to record a baseline of your oral health, so we have a clear reference point for future visits.
The only thing not included is 3D panoramic (OPG) imaging, which is rarely needed for a first visit. If your dentist recommends an OPG, we'll explain why and confirm the cost before proceeding.
No surprises, ever.
If we find anything that needs attention, we'll explain it clearly and give you all the options with costs before we do anything. There's no pressure to commit to treatment on the day.

Your appointment at Nest Dental will be a thorough, unhurried consultation with enough time to address all your concerns. The initial appointment usually runs for 45–60 minutes.
